Our 2013 Go Red for Women Speaker
Nancy J. Breckenridge
In 1954, Nancy lost her father to a sudden heart attack. In 1988, Nancy lost her mother to congenital heart failure. Even though her health had been good, the passing of her mother triggered a need to pay closer attention. She took part in Nation Heart Attack Risk studies for several years receiving excellent reports for body weight/body mass percentage, blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar. Nancy exercised with a personal trainer for a year prior to turning 60.
After retiring, Nancy continued her exercise routine and participated in a variety of volunteer opportunities, in 2005 her family and friends were shocked to learn that she had suffered a "widow maker" heart attack.
