The American Heart Association Sweethearts and Mavericks are high school sophomores who actively participate in a program designed to teach them about heart healthy lifestyles and the prevention of heart disease through education and volunteerism. The Tulsa Heart Ball has raised more than $10,000,000 for the important work of the American Heart Association in the last 49 years as we fight cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
In Spring of 2017, my grandfather had blockage in four coronary arteries. He had to undergo major heart surgery, which included a quadruple bypass. My family was in shock. There was no previous family history of heart disease and he had never smoked a day in his life. The reason I joined Heart ball was to raise awareness of heart disease. Sometimes there is no obvious sign that someone you love is experiencing cardiac symptoms. I want to raise money so more people can be informed on the signs and causes of heart disease. Please donate to the 2019 Tulsa Heart Ball and join the fight against heart disease!!!
