My mother has heart disease. The more I came to learn about heart disease in women, including the fact that it is the No. 1 killer of women, and that 80% of all heart disease is preventable, I decided to play a more active role for the sake of the other women in my family. This includes my wife, who always puts family and others above herself, and my teenage daughter. It was the women in my life that was the catalyst for me to get involved, and it is personal for me. I would encourage everyone to visit the Go Red for Women web page to learn more about the disease, how it can be prevented, and consider getting involved yourself.
